Most trauma deaths don't happen in hospital.
They happen before help arrives.
Up to 25% are preventable. In most cases — it's bleeding.
The Threat
A catastrophic bleed can cause death in as little as 3 to 5 minutes
Average emergency response time in a remote rural setting
Of trauma deaths are preventable with immediate intervention
In a remote rural setting, the average emergency response time can exceed 20 minutes. A catastrophic bleed, left unmanaged, can cause death in as little as three to five minutes.
This course closes that gap — giving you the knowledge, the technique, and the confidence to act decisively when it matters most.
Whether you are in the field, at the range, or witness a road accident, this course addresses the most critical emergency you might encounter: catastrophic haemorrhage.

Why This Exists
"Years ago I was involved in a motorcycle accident that severed my femoral artery above the knee. Fortunately I remained conscious and was able to take action immediately. Later, a doctor told me that if I hadn't acted when I did, I would almost certainly have died before help arrived."
— Simon Stevens, Founder
Over many years of shooting and through his work as a firearms dealer at Steelfoot Firearms & Ammunition, Simon has had the privilege of meeting many outstanding people — including serving and former police and military personnel. One thing that often stood out was their preparedness: many carried tourniquets and, more importantly, knew how to use them.
The shooting and rural community often operate in remote environments around rifles, hunting knives, chainsaws, vehicles and farm machinery — frequently far from immediate medical assistance. With the growing popularity of the CL55 night stalking licence, more stalkers are now operating in darkness, where response times and visibility are further compromised.
This training exists to ensure that if the worst does happen — whether in the field, on an estate, at the range, or even on the roadside — you have the knowledge and confidence to act in those critical first minutes.
Who Is This For
Target & Practical Shooters
At the range or in the field, accidents happen. Be the person who can act.
Farmers & Rural Workers
Remote locations, heavy machinery, and long response times make this training essential.
Outdoor Workers & Stalkers
Operating in darkness or remote terrain where help is 20+ minutes away.
Everyday People
Road accidents happen to anyone. Know how to act before the ambulance arrives.

Registered Nurse · Combat Engineer Medic · Remote Rescue Medical Technician
Dan has been delivering first aid since the early nineties. His journey began as an Army Cadet before progressing to the Regular Army as a Combat Engineer, where he served as a team medic. He subsequently worked in Emergency Departments as a Registered Nurse, bringing the discipline of clinical medicine to the urgency of pre-hospital trauma care.
His experience spans crowd medicine at major festivals and football events, and he has served as a Remote Rescue Medical Technician (RRMT) with Mountain Rescue. Today, Dan teaches nursing to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, combining academic rigour with hard-won practical knowledge.

Absolutely. Catastrophic bleeding can happen to anyone — road accidents, workplace injuries, and domestic incidents all carry this risk. The skills taught are universally applicable.
This is covered in the course. In brief: ensure scene safety first, call 999 immediately, then apply direct pressure or a tourniquet if trained to do so. The course gives you the confidence to act rather than freeze.
